Bob Buckley

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Bob Buckley has been writing his imagination through the music of Free Henry! for 8 years. Free Henry!"s singer songwriter and unspoken leader picked up his first acoustic guitar at age 15. "I bought it for $35 at the local music store. Sadly, my most vivid memory of it is its terrible condition. Hence the price!" Armed only with a guitar in shambles, Bob began writing his music. He elaborates... "I struggled with shallow lyrics and adolescent themes for a few years. It was all I could create at the time. Even though my material was weak, I respected it. It was real-to-life for me and it became a sincere outlet. I acknowledged that song-writing is a muscle that needs constant conditioning and fuel. It was my platform and foundation of what you hear today with Free Henry!"

Through years of inspirational study, he has developed a unique ideology to channel passion and a consistent, yet varying energy in his music that he calls the"Sailboat Sense". "Sailboat Senses, the song, only pays homage to an ideology that is part of something much bigger. The best way to describe the approach is a connection to nature. A moment alone or with someone you trust, where your body and mind are stormed by the emotions of a landscape, so strongly, that inner music comes soaring outward."

Tales of experience with his self-conceived ideology are prominent throughout his songs and act as the cornerstone of his inspirations. Today, with upgraded equipment and a continuously expanding imagination to serve his music, Buckley's ear for rich melody (joined with band mates he holds sacred) show promise in the music scene locally and otherwise.
